Political change cannot come from within Israeli society. It can only come from the outside. Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank and Gaza cannot vote in Israeli parliamentary elections, despite the far-reaching consequences of Israeli government decisions for their lives.. Hopefully, October 27 will produce a clear winner. If it does not, Israel’s political leaders will have to decide whether their refusal to sit together matters more than the country.
