The Bharathiar University land transfer to TIDCO raises questions over education, compensation, industrial use and elephant corridor protection. COIMBATORE: BJP’s Coimbatore district unit has condemned reports that Bharathiar University’s management has approved the transfer of 196.22 acres. The Higher Education Department has sanctioned ₹164.28 crore for disbursement to land owners from whom 925.84 acres were acquired in Vadavalli and Somaiyampalayam villages during 1978-86.
