The students of JMI have been protesting over the past couple of weeks, demanding restoration of students’ union, which was dissolved in 2006. A major controversy has erupted at Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia University after allegedly objectionable slogans were found written on campus walls. The university has initiated a review of disciplinary action and constituted a committee to draft the union's constitution. Protesters, however, remain dissatisfied with the absence of a firm.
