A Mississippi police officer who fatally shot a one-year-old Black boy during a police response to an alleged shoplifting incident has resigned, hours after authorities released body camera footage of the shooting. The city's interim police chief has also stepped down, amid renewed scrutiny of the incident and calls for an independent federal investigation.
