Bombay High Court on Thursday declared the 2017 arrest of Malabar Hill businessman Bipin Agrwal illegal, holding that a police sub-inspector acted in collusion with a developer to falsely implicate him in an extortion case. The Bombay High Court declared Mumbai businessman Bipin Agrawal’s 2017 arrest in an extortion case illegal and ordered the Maharashtra government to pay Rs 5 lakh for 26 days of wrongful detention.
