The officers on intensive immersion duty include joint municipal commissioners, the municipal secretary, chief engineers, chief managers and others. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has deployed 611 personnel, including senior and junior officers, to oversee Durga idol immersion processes at 27 ghats. The civic body has also kept 43 medical teams on standby round the clock, along with eight vector control teams and seven ambulances across the 27 ghats.
