Amid drought conditions in parts of Maharashtra, the state government has reportedly approved ₹4 crore to send farmers on foreign study tours in 2026-27. The tours aim to expose farmers to modern agricultural technology used abroad. Nine officials will accompany the farmers, with one official for every 20 participants. The scheme has been in place since 2004-05, an official said.
