In a progressive move, the Maharashtra government has allocated Rs 4 crore to facilitate study tours abroad for farmers during the 2026-27 period. This initiative will see 180 farmers, along with nine officials, travelling to gain insights into cutting-edge agricultural technologies and practices from other nations. Since its inception in 2004-05, the program has focused on enhancing farmers' abilities, with the subsidy limit recently raised to meet increasing travel expenses.
