The Karnataka High Court has quashed criminal proceedings against a fertiliser dealer from Bagalkot, ruling that selling sealed fertiliser products later found to be substandard does not automatically make a dealer criminally liable without evidence of individual responsibility for the quality failure. Justice T Venkatesh Naik of the High Court's Dharwad Bench passed the order on a petition.
