What is 'Sonic', the new technology being used in India-NZ series. A new edge-detection technology called 'Sonic' is being used for the first time during India-New Zealand series. Developed in New Zealand by Virtual Eye, Sonic uses advanced audio analysis to help third umpires detect bat-ball contact during DRS reviews. The technology underwent extensive testing and independent assessment, with support from ICC and BCCI.
