The School Education Department has extended the Dasara vacation for all primary and high schools in Dakshina Kannada district, declaring a holiday on Thursday, October 22. The Deputy Director of the Department of School Education issued an order extending the vacation for students from Classes 1 to 10 in view of the ongoing Dasara festivities.
