The CBI has taken over the probe into the murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota in Punjab's Mansa and registered an FIR. The 42-year-old was shot dead inside a medical store on October 13 after he confronted its owner, Ashwani Kumar, over alleged drug sales. This comes a day after CM Bhagwant Mann transferred the investigation to the CBI.
