Thiruvananthapuram airport to suspend flights for temple procession. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport will suspend flight services from 4 pm to 9 pm on October 20 to facilitate the 'Alpassi Arattu' procession of Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple. The bi-annual ritual, involving Travancore Royals, requires the procession to pass through the runway to reach Shanghumugham beach. The practice dates back centuries, predating the airport's 1932 establishment.
