US man converts bus into shelter to save 64 animals from hurricane. A truck driver from Tennessee, Tony Alsup, converted a school bus into a mobile animal shelter to rescue 53 dogs and 11 cats during a Hurricane, reports stated. He removed the seats and filled the vehicle with crates before driving into South Carolina to rescue them. The animals were safely transported to shelters in Alabama.
