Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina wished Hindus 'Subho Saradiya' on Durga Puja and raised concerns over the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh. She alleged that minorities faced killings, attacks on temples, vandalism and intimidation since August 5, 2024. Hasina urged people to protect communal harmony, saying, "To my Sanatan brothers and sisters…this country is yours too.".
