SC makes insurance mandatory for all train tickets from Oct 27. Supreme Court has directed Indian Railways to provide insurance coverage for all train tickets purchased at railway counters from October 27. It warned that the Railway Board would be held directly accountable for any failure to comply with the order. It also expressed disappointment over delays in implementing railway safety measures, including the Kavach anti-collision system and track fencing.
