Traffic hit on Mumbai-B'luru highway due to farmers' protest, police issue advisory. Traffic on Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway 48 (NH-48) was disrupted on Wednesday due to a farmers’ protest on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border. Maharashtra Highway Police issued an advisory urging commuters to avoid travelling towards Karnataka via NH-48 through Kolhapur, Satara and Pune and to use alternative routes. Farmers have been staging the protest over sugarcane prices and ethanol rates.
