CJP’s Das, Ranka & Shinde put under preventive arrest for entering Jantar Mantar. CJP leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde have been placed under preventive arrest for entering now-denotified Jantar Mantar protest site without permission. They will be produced before a Special Executive Magistrate Court. Preventive arrest gives police the power to detain a person without a warrant to stop a cognisable offence or a breach of peace from happening.
