Pune water supply to be shut on Thursdays until August 2027. Pune Municipal Corporation has opted for weekly Thursday water shutdowns instead of reducing daily supply hours, seeking to conserve water until August 2027. According to PMC official Pavneet Kaur, poor monsoon rainfall and possible El Nino effects prompted the move. The civic body has also barred drinking water use for construction and urged housing societies to reuse treated wastewater.
