BMC proposes hike in public toilet charges. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed to increase public toilet charges in Mumbai under the Pay-and-Use Policy 2026. Under the revised tariff, women’s urinal charges may rise from ₹2 to ₹5, while men may have to pay ₹1 for previously free urinals. Using bathroom facilities could cost ₹10, double the existing charge, as part of the proposed hike.
