SC seeks SOP to verify fake OBC/SC/ST caste claims in Census 2027. The Supreme Court asked the Centre to explain its mechanism for verifying caste claims under Census 2027, warning that fake certificates could strip genuine beneficiaries of reservation rights. A bench led by CJI Surya Kant sought a Standard Operating Procedure after hearing a PIL by Delhi activist Aakash Goel. The matter will be heard in two weeks.
