Abbas postpones Palestinian elections to Sept 2027. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has delayed legislative elections from Nov. 28, 2026, to Sept. 11, 2027, citing Israeli "obstacles." Israel rejected the claim, calling it a "ridiculous lie." Both Fatah and Hamas had agreed to recommend a delay at a Cairo meeting. These would be the first Palestinian parliamentary elections since 2006.
