In pilot Smit Machchhar's case, India invokes Anti-Hijacking Act & UAPA against Omani pilot. NIA registered an FIR against Omani pilot Hamam Al-Hammami under UAPA and the Anti-Hijacking Act for his attempt to launch a 9/11-style terror attack on an Israel-bound plane, News18 reported. NIA intends to investigate the larger conspiracy behind his attack on Indian pilot Smit Machchhar and the hijacking attempt. Indian security agencies have reportedly been given full investigation rights.
