India: UNMOGIP irrelevant after 1972 Simla Agreement. India's MEA reiterated that UNMOGIP has outlived its relevance following the 1972 Simla Agreement, responding to UN Secretary-General Guterres' visit to the group's Islamabad office on October 6. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India's bilateral framework under the Simla Agreement governs resolution of all issues between India and Pakistan, including Jammu and Kashmir.
