Mysuru bans use of trees for festive illumination. The Forest Department has directed the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) not to use trees to install decorative lighting during Dasara or any other occasion in Mysuru. Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) K Paramesha issued the order on Thursday to protect the health of trees and creatures that depend on them.
