Mosque not mandatory for namaz: AAI to HC in Kolkata airport mosque case. Airports Authority of India (AAI) opposed interim permission to resume prayers at Bankra Mosque located within Kolkata airport premises before Calcutta High Court. During the hearing, AAI’s counsel said, “Airport is public land. It isn’t mandatory to go to a mosque for Namaz. Namaz can be offered anywhere.” Earlier, the court had refused permission to offer prayers at the mosque.
