Maha CM lists intensive electoral roll revisions since 1952, calls current SIR next phase. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Monday highlighted the history of intensive electoral roll revisions in India amid protests over the ongoing SIR exercise. Fadnavis said such revisions were conducted in 1952, 1956, 1957, 1961, 1965 and 1966. He also cited exercises in 1983-84, 1987-89, 1992-93, 1995, 2002, 2003 and 2004, calling the current SIR the next phase.
