Fire brigade personnel, Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management staff, the Thane Disaster Response Force and Vartak Nagar police jointly carried out the rescue operation. Nine residents, including senior citizens, were rescued after a slab on the second floor of a 24-year-old residential building collapsed into a flat on the first floor in Thane`s Vartak Nagar area.
