In Bikaner, a unique Diwali tradition brings communities together, as members of the Muslim community recite the Ramayana in Urdu, carrying forward a decades-old literary tradition. The 33-page Urdu version of the Ramayana was composed in 1935 by Maulvi Badshah Shah Hussain Rana Lakhnavi, with the assistance of a Kashmiri Pandit.
