Migrant workers, along with children and elderly relatives, throng holding area 12-14 hours before unreserved trains leave on gruelling 36-hour journey. First lot of around 11,000 migrants head to their home states on six trains for Diwali and Chhath puja. Civic and transport authorities are coordinating field operations to improve commuter safety, reduce transit bottlenecks, and streamline daily travel across key urban corridors.
