The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) brought its annual Diwali celebration to Brisbane’s King George Square on 6 November, with representatives from federal, state and local government joining the community event. Senator Paul Scarr congratulated the organisation for hosting the celebration, saying all three levels of government were strongly represented, including the Speaker.
