Tension prevailed in Jaypur village under Muthagadia panchayat in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Saturday after residents staged a protest against liquor sales in the area. The villagers allegedly demolished a house where liquor was being sold and blocked National Highway-57. The villagers said they had earlier protested against liquor sales and raised the issue with police, but no action was taken.
