The state government has decided to provide Farmer IDs to around 1.6 lakh farmers who cultivate land but do not have their names recorded in the 7/12 land extract or Farmer ID database, state revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Saturday. Affected landowners and farmer representatives have demanded clear written assurances on market valuation and fair compensation norms before field surveys or land acquisition proceed.
