Ahead of Diwali 2026, Maharashtra FDA has issued a food safety advisory urging consumers to check silver leaf, verify FSSAI licences and avoid adulterated sweets. The watchdog has also shared precautions for buying khava, ghee, dry fruits and festive gift hampers. Before picking up a box of sweets this festive season, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) wants consumers to try a simple check to distinguish genuine silver leaf from aluminium.
