Thane Mayor Sharmila Pimpale directed civic officials to strengthen safety measures at city lakes ahead of Chhath Puja, according to the municipal review meeting. Nodal officers will oversee arrangements at each lake, while barricades, CCTV cameras and lighting will help manage crowds. Ambulances and medical teams are also to be stationed at key locations, including major lake sites.
