The Maharashtra Government has declared November 9 a local holiday on account of Diwali, adding to two previously announced local holidays. Students across India will have a pause from classes this Diwali, though the length of the break varies considerably from one state to another. November 2026 is set to bring an extended festive break for school students in several parts of the country.
