Mumbai`s Diwali firecracker tests record 93.1 dB(A), while 11 of 17 varieties lack noise labels and eight packets have unscannable QR codes. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board MPCB and the Awaaz Foundation tested 17 types of firecrackers at Chemburrsquos RCF grounds on November 5 as part of their annual noiselevel assessment ahead of Diwali All the crackers tested were within the prescribed noise limit of 125 dBA although some exceeded 90 dBA.
