OpenAI's newest cybersecurity model comes out as AI labs face scrutiny of their work to protect digital infrastructure. According to OpenAI, its upcoming cyber model was able to identify 948 cyber vulnerabilities in Linux and build exploits that could give any user root access. OpenAI’s unreleased cyber-focused AI model powered a pipeline that can detect, validate, and patch security vulnerabilities at scale.
