The Sensex has gained 5,755.16 points, or 7.86%, from its October 28 close of 73,246.03 to hit an intraday high of 79,001.19 on Thursday (today). The Nifty 50, meanwhile, has advanced around 7%. The 30-share BSE Sensex pack advanced 383.55 points or 0.50 per cent to close at 77,301.40. With Wednesday's gains, the index has surged 4,055.37 points over five consecutive sessions.
