President Trump struck several different tones after Republicans lost ground in the midterm elections. While he argued on Truth Social that Republicans would have won "in a landslide" had he been on the ballot, he also promoted a "VETO" hat that appeared to signal confrontation with Congress. At the same time, Trump has left open the possibility of working with Democrats on some issues.
