Singapore's Rena Lee has been elected as one of the 15 judges of the International Court of Justice. She will be the first from the country to sit on the bench of the UN's highest court. The election marks a milestone for Singapore, which has long championed a rules-based international order. She secured the highest number of votes from the General Assembly — 151 out of 191.
