Kolhapur: The indefinite highway blockade launched by the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana at Kini Toll Plaza, demanding a first instalment of Rs 4,500 per. The agitation began on Tuesday afternoon under the leadership of former MP Raju Shetti, with hundreds of sugarcane growers from surrounding areas joining the protest. Farmers spent the night on the highway and continued their agitation on Wednesday.
