Pune Municipal Corporation has banned Diwali gifts for officials from contractors, developers and suppliers, warning of disciplinary action. PMC has begun inspecting unauthorised firecracker stalls in Pune after its Disaster Management Department flagged safety risks in crowded areas. Pune cracker stalls are reportedly missing fire extinguishers and safe spacing. PMC’s fire department has sent violators’ names for action.
