The killing of Dewas TI Dilip Puri has renewed concerns over mafia violence in Madhya Pradesh. Since 2012, seven government employees, including four police personnel, two forest officials and a revenue employee, have died during operations against illegal mining and liquor transportation. Several victims were deliberately run over by vehicles while attempting to stop suspected offenders.
