Asian Games gold medalist Sarita Gayakwad has allegedly been defrauded of Rs 69.10 lakh by a man who promised high returns on investment in his sand business in Gujarat. An FIR has been registered against the accused, Nitin Bharti, who is currently absconding. Gayakwad was persuaded to invest with a promise of 4 per cent monthly returns, but received neither the returns nor her principal amount.
