Rushikulya High School in Barapalli village under Ganjam block was left covered in thick mud after floodwater from the Rushikulya river inundated the premises for three to four days. Teachers and staff were reportedly struggling to clean the building and prepare it for the resumption of classes. The floodwater reportedly reached around five feet inside the classrooms, while the water level in the playground rose to more than 10 feet.
