Fifteen members of the informal birding group Kudla Birders recorded 73 bird species during an outing to the wetlands of Manjalpaade and Bondel in Mangaluru. The first Karnataka Rajyotsava Bird Count (KRBC), an attempt to document the 550-odd species of birds found in the State’s wetlands, forests, fields, lakes, gardens and parks, will be held. Karnataka will hold its first-ever Rajyotsava Bird Census from October 30 to November 2, 2026.
