BMC issued a notice to MMRDA’s superintendent engineer seeking Rs 1.39 crore as ground rent for alleged unauthorised use of footpaths between May 2024 and May 2025. The civic body warned that dues may be recovered from contractors’ running project bills if unpaid and directed immediate clearance of construction material.
