The carcass of a female elephant was recovered from an agricultural field in Chamunda Beat under Chamunda section of Padiabahal forest range in Sambalpur forest division on Friday. Solar fencing wire was found wrapped around the elephant’s head and trunk, raising suspicion that it had come into contact with an electrified fence and died.
