Indonesian mothers joined youth-led protests in Jakarta on Indonesia’s Youth Pledge Day (Oct 28), giving young demonstrators food and drinks while voicing anger over forest fires and economic policies. Women from civil society group Indonesia Mothers’ Alliance set up a crowd-funded base offering snacks and refreshments to the crowd throughout the day. Besides logistics support, some of the mothers also raised their concern over President Prabowo Subianto’s controversial free meals programme.
